Job Summary

Manufacture a variety of parts, sub-assemblies or tools by utilizing all shop machinery available per the outlined instructions, prints, or quality information within the allocated time.

Essential Functions

  • Sets up machines proficiently for each job
  • Works from prints or drawings to produce a variety of items
  • Produces precision parts within the allocated time listed on job traveler
  • Inspects machining operations and finished products against specified tolerances, using precision measuring tools
  • Keeps quality records for each job
  • Keeps machinery and tooling in good working order, according to daily, weekly, & monthly maintenance schedule
  • Maintains personal quality tooling required to do the job per Schurman Machine tooling outline
  • Presentable appearance and maintains personal tooling in a way that is clean and organized
  • Calculates feeds & speeds on machinery for jobs

Qualifications

  • Preference Given To
    • Graduate of a technical school
    • Machinists Who Have Worked On
      • VTL’s 10′ or larger
      • Horizontals w/ 6′ x 8′ work envelopes
      • Lathes 36″ dia or larger
  • Five to seven years of on the job experience operating large horizontal & vertical boring mills
  • Able to setup one-off parts efficiently & without supervision
  • Able to work independently, responsible, & reliable
  • Proficient blueprint reading skills & trigonometry
  • Proficient with quality tools required to do the job
  • Must have your own Machinist Tools & basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometer, edge finder, dial indicator)

Job Summary

Fit and weld components by prescribed methods required or as called out on customer’s blueprints and specifications. Meeting quality requirements set forth by AWS D1.1 or greater.

Major Duties

  • Review blue prints and job specifications
  • Set up welder current, amperage, and gas flows to the prescribed settings for material being welded
  • Interpret blueprints to understand welding requirements
  • Layout, tack, and inspect fixture parts for welding
  • Weld components together meeting AWS D1.1 standards or greater
  • Can read tape measure, calipers, surface gauge, welding gauge, and be able to lay out skip welds
  • Use industries standard methods to straighten, ream, and deburr as required
  • Understand GD&T
  • Provide technical direction and support to welder trainees
  • Support / Back-up fabrication foreman when required
  • Participate in insuring a safe work environment through best practice including promoting of all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, maintenance of a 5S work station

Qualifications

  • Must have 5-7 yrs experience in welding
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to interpret blue prints and welding, engineering and material specifications
  • Prefer applicant is AWS certified in MIG, TIG, FCAW and tack welding on both mild & stainless steel
    • We will get all employees certified per AWS D1.1
  • Comfortable using standard metal working tools
  • Ability to retain work instructions and common shop practices
  • Must have solid math, dimensional and reading skills
  • Prefer applicants that have experience with cranes, forklifts, saws, and drill presses

Job Summary

Load or pick up parts or materials, drive them to their destination as instructed.  Primary goal is to safely deliver or pick up the goods/materials as instructed.  Basic vehicle maintenance and keeping the vehicles clean inside and out.  Obeying traffic laws and being courteous to all drivers. Excellent communication skills, responsible for the loads being transported, ability to navigate the designated area if GPS doesn’t work, organized on how the load is placed and paperwork is kept and lastly self-motivated.

Essential Functions

  • Drive large flat-bed truck, strapping down large equipment/material
  • Drive forklift for loading/unloading trucks
  • Performs daily truck inspections, completing inspection reports, and notifying personnel if maintenance is required on vehicles
  • Comfortable lifting(forklift/crane)/hauling/strapping very large parts (5,000+ lbs)
  • Comfortable using cranes & lifting equipment
  • Performs assigned laboring jobs, such as plant sweeping duties, product repair and salvage reclaim (hand work only), pallet repair, and scrap bundling or stocking of pallets
  • Assists with loading and unloading of trucks
  • Must be able to navigate without GPS
  • Must keep the trucks clean inside and out

Additional Responsibilities

  • May be assigned to some unskilled jobs at the mill, drill press and band saw.
  • Under direction of tradesperson, may cut, grind and file parts of metal stock.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
  • Must provide current driving record from the state DOL, as proof of record
  • Must already have current Medical Examiner’s Certificate, if not, be able to pass a USDOT Physical
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Preferably have experience in a warehouse/delivery environment
  • Have basic math skills
  • Have a sense of urgency when needed and have a great deal of common sense
  • Be able to pass a background check and a drug screen
  • Must be a steady, reliable worker
  • Must be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams
  • Must be able to perform simple tasks independently after being given specific instructions
  • Must have general knowledge of simple measuring equipment

Job Summary

To perform routine maintenance duties including cleaning of shop, offices and bathrooms, wipe down machines, forklifts and company vehicles. To perform unskilled maintenance work of machines under supervision of qualified personnel.

Essential Functions

  • Performs assigned laboring jobs, such as plant sweeping duties, repair and salvage reclaim (hand work only), and scrap bundling or stocking on pallets
  • Cleans floor areas around equipment of metal chips
  • Performs grinding, filing, & de-burring of shop parts with hand grinders
  • Performs routine oiling, greasing, and cleaning shop machines
  • Assists with loading and unloading of trucks
  • Maintains adequate stock of cleaning supplies

Additional Responsibilities

  • May be assigned to some unskilled jobs at the mill, drill press, band saw, or CNC machines.
  • May act as forklift operator as long as employee has valid driver’s license.
  • Will be used as a back-up driver in the situation where our current driver is unavailable.
  • Under direction of tradesperson, may cut, grind and file parts of metal stock.
  • Use 6” & 9” hand grinders for grinding metal parts.
  • Ability to paint parts with air sprayer.
  • Straightening metal parts & raw material experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Must be a steady, reliable worker.
  • Must be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
  • Must be able to perform simple tasks independently after being given specific instructions.
  • Must have general knowledge of simple measuring equipment.
  • Driver’s license needed to be able to drive.
  • Must be able to pass mandatory pre-employment Drug Screening.
