Schurman Machine is a heavy industrial manufacturing services & fabrication company, specializing in using the latest CNC and manually operated milling machines to deliver high-tolerance parts and sub-assemblies.  We take a hands-on approach with our customers, and have a commitment to quality.  We’re committed to expanding our capabilities & capacities to meet our growing customer base and their needs.

Our company has grown into an industry leader in machining technology by maintaining a meticulous commitment to excellence, which our employees have followed since we began in 1957. Our shop, with its well-earned reputation for quality, is large enough to handle heavy-duty industrial demands.  We’re proud of our staff of top-notch craftsmen who pride themselves on their precise machining skills.

COMPANY HISTORY

1957

Humble beginnings

Paul Schurman started Paul Schurman Machine as just a small, one-building shop that was used to help repair local tractor parts. Paul brought the skills and pride of Frank Schurman (Paul’s Father), which were passed on through the generations and are exhibited today at our facilities.
1970's

From Father to Son

Alan Schurman, Paul’s son, took over where his father left off in running the machine shop.  Alan, a then successful Clark College diesel tech and machining instructor, left his job at the college to run the shop for over 25 years.
2000

Next Generation

Denise Schurman is now the 3rd generation along with Matt Houghton continue to build upon the Schurman machining legacy.
2018

Our Future

We’ve upgraded our equipment, with the importance on acquiring precision CNC machines.  We have added a number of CNC machines over that time, including a 36-foot Ingersoll Planer Mill, Wasino CNC Lathe, Nomura CNC HBM, & Chevalier CNC VTL.

EXPERIENCED TEAM

Matt Houghton

Owner / CEO

Matt started in 1996 as the clean-up guy. In 2000 helped purchase the company. He’s a military veteran who values hard work, Integrity and quality. Matt has a bachelor's degree in business and enjoys coaching soccer and traveling.

Scott Beaudoin

General Manager

Scott began as a Machinist at Schurman and quickly rose to Forman then General Manager. He grew up in Vancouver and helped work his families farm. His interests include driving racecars, trucks & go-carts as well as downhill skiing. He’s been a valuable member of our team for over 25 years.

Jesus Reyes

QC/Shipping Manager

Quality Inspector Certified, Jesus is well versed in inspection of all parts that go through the shop. He is also trained to inspect via our CMM Faro Arm, as well as Safety, First-Aid, Forklifts, and CPR. Jesus has three boys and grandchildren. He enjoys working on the family garden and spending time with his grandkids.

Troy McKay

Maintenance Manager

Troy started at Schurman as a welder then because of his mechanical background as well as his interests in learning CNC Controls became our Maintenance Manager. His interests include motor cross, outdoors and his German shepherd.

Cameron Cox

Outside Sales Representative

Cameron worked at Schurman for many years then decided to become an Outside Sales Rep. He’s found his niche and is flourishing. Cameron’s interest include coaching soccer, traveling with his family and making people laugh.

Denise Schurman

Controller/Owner

Denise has worked at Schurman in A/R then A/P and then taking over as Controller in 2010. She helped buy the business in 2000 and has expand the capabilities and capacities ever since. Denise’s interests are traveling, her gardening and animals.

Tyler Ferrell

Programmer

Tyler has been our programmer here at Schurman since 2019 and has worked as a CNC machinist since 2010. His interests are bowling, golfing and vintage cars.

Doug Stillman

Accounting

Doug works in accounting. He’s a golfer and loves a good concert.

Allan Noble

Shop Foreman

Allan is a machinist by trade and worked at Schurman now for 5 years. He’s responsible for managing the production and scheduling. In his free time he loves sailing and family time
